A compact, threaded stainless steel speed sensor compatible with all motogadget and Daytona instruments.
The threaded body lets you dial in the sensor-to-magnet gap precisely, then lock it in place with the supplied nuts for a clean, consistent signal.
Sealed to IP67 and housed in corrosion-resistant stainless steel, it shrugs off rain, road grime, pressure washing and vibration. It's a reliable, set-and-forget choice for custom builds, café racers and anywhere a factory sensor won't fit or can't be used.
Comes prewired with 50cm of cable. Includes 200cm of cable should you need to extend it. Also included is 150cm of cable sleeving, heat-shrinkable to 4mm diameter. Unlike regular heat-shrink, this sleeving retains flexibility even after shrinking, and gives that OEM cable look.
Installation Instructions
-
Mount the magnet. Fix the magnet to a rotating part of the wheel, such as a brake disc bolt head or the disc carrier. Bed it in a high-strength epoxy and let it cure fully. Keep it as far from the hot braking surface as practical.
-
Mount the sensor. Fit the sensor to a fixed point (caliper bracket, fork leg or swingarm) using a suitable bracket, so the sensor tip passes directly over the magnet face as the wheel turns.
-
Set the gap. Use the threaded body and lock nuts to set the gap between sensor tip and magnet face to a maximum of 10mm. Allow for wheel play: the magnet must never touch the sensor. Tighten the lock nuts firmly (Max. torque: 2Nm). Thread lock adhesive is strongly recommended.
-
Route the cable. Run the cable along the brake line or fork leg, securing it with cable ties or clips. Leave enough slack for full steering lock and suspension travel, and keep it clear of the disc, tyre and exhaust.
-
Connect. The sensor has two wires and is not polarity sensitive. Connect one to your speedometer's speed signal input and the other to the ground or sensor return, as specified in your speedometer's instructions.
-
Configure and test. Set your speedometer to one pulse per wheel revolution and enter your wheel circumference. Spin the wheel by hand to confirm a reading, then verify against GPS on a test ride.
